I suppose my taste for travel and curiosity began when I was 4. Good wheat years and Dad put us on a Pullman in the dead of night…off to Florida. The sailing vessels. The fish and water. The lengthening shadows, docks. The salt air mingled with sea catches. Mystery. We spent the winter there.
